Have you made your money back? if so how long did it take? How much do average an hour WC vs PW?

Finally did it... I got into pressure washing.
For about a year it was a service I offered but subcontracted it out to a good friend of mine who did good work, but after looking through 2009 and seeing how much money I could have made I immediately got equipment....and man the good stuff can cost a good penny
Since adding pressure washing I've been up-selling the crap out of it to all my clients and it's blowing up. I've picked up more new clients this week then I did all month long last year. Besides it being fun, it's easy to teach my guys how to do it.
If you're not pressure washing you are loosing some serious money.

I will be bringing up quite a few pw questions here soon enough - I'm sure micah will be sick of me by then. Good luck, as it is one of our many new services to be expanding upon this year.

That is awesome Matt. What kind of rig did you invest in? I have bookoo's of pressure washing/soft washing work lined up as soon as it gets warm enough - which looks like it'll be Monday. The pressure washing and window washing business compliment each other perfectly.

Last summer when I started my business, I asked Curt Kempton(5Star) about pressure washing. He said "It's Your Cash Cow". I bought it 2 weeks later. Never averaged less than $45 an hr. and I had no idea what the hell I was doing...![]()

With the right tools, chemicals, methods, etc., you can easily get $100.00 an hour. Pays better than window cleaning.
But of course the initial investment and ongoing operating expenses are greater with power washing than with window cleaning.
Bill,
To see the return you have seen on your investment did you actively sell just exterior pressure washing for buildings, or did you get into fleet washing and the like? Did you see the majority of revenues coming from selling deeper into existing accounts, or did the bulk of your sales come from new accounts?
Were you soft selling and positioning this service with prospective clients prior to launching your PW'ing services or did you launch a dedicated marketing campaign? Sorry for the 101 questions, just very impressed with your ROI, not to mention the revenues you must be generating from this side of the business after recouping your initial capital outlay so quickly.

The pressure washing gear will pay itself off easily by the end of the month.
I'm trying to learn roof washing, I didn't get a soft pump. I tossed the idea around to a few clients about roof washing and they ate it up, starting at $300 a piece it seems easy...
Micah, I'll be needed to pick your brain for a little bit for the pressure washing stuff.
