    Default Cold weather tool tips

Hi WCR fans, I attached a Video of a couple of cold weather tool tips. I am also looking for more TIPS from WC's with a lot of time in the business. The saying is experience is the best teacher, but if I can short cut that time by gleaning from those with more experience, then I figure it will boost my own skills even faster!
    Thanks in Advance!

Got to agree Matt. I use the padded wrap for my poles and handles. Here's a couple of videos on that -

Good eye! They are indeed. I've gone thru 3 pairs since I started using them 5 years ago. The sun tends to wear out the covering so after a year to a year and a half they get to looking ratty. That being said they are awesome at holding the ladder on and are far safer than bungees (had one to many of those break and smack me when taking them off).

Very nice video. Well done and very usefull info and a much cheaper way to keep your hands warm than the pole covers sold by some supply houses. My biggest tip for winter window cleaning is keep your hands out of the water. Use a bottle on belts.html">belt to wet stripper and use the stripper a small squeegee to dry seals.

I love the idea guys thanks.

My father in law installs HVAC and he got me some pipe wrap that is split down one side and the pole just slips into and i used colored duct tape to wrap my poles. Pretty cheap to do. He paid about 20 for 25 feet of it at a HVAC store. I think you could get it at a plumbing supply wharehouse also.

Hey Tony, Thanks for the videos, I think it was one of your videos that I got the Pole Wrap idea from. My dad was working with me at 77yrs old, he would climb ladders and could do any task that needed to be done. But he was all done when his hands got cold, so I found your idea and padded his pole, he was good to go. However 2 yrs after my Mom passed away, Dad married her best friend Irene, now they act like teenagers and like some teenagers, Dad quit his window cleaning, he had better things to do! Oh well he didn't need the money anyhow. I just hope I'm still able to do that well at 77, when and if I get there, GO DAD!
Thanks Tony, by the way I notice you prove your winter tips out in the cold, I'm impressed!

Get the ladder locks - you'll never go back to anything else.
