The
rubber band idea sounds equally awesome, although I have not tried it yet since I don't have a rubber band.
Dangerous, your suggestions are what I was looking for in regards to my tools and technique. I had my rubber cut really close and noticed the problem with water at the edges, but my angle was down away from the frame. Tomorrow I am gonna leave a smaller piece of wet glass next to my last edge and then keep the edge side down tight into the frame.
Thank you so much for the valuable knowledge helping me to make my process more efficient!
Justin,
If you got your clamp in your pouch with your scrim attached then your down time will be eliminated !
I think in time all the right moves you learn will become like muscle memory and as time goes by it will be just like taking a breath !
You know we all have come up the ladder and you'll climb it too, just try the different processes and remember that not every window is the same so what works on one may not work on another, frames usually dictate the technique so acquiring different techniques is a way of life for a cleaner. Even to this day I'm still acquiring new ways and ideas.
Cutting your rubber to close or extending it to far shoots down productivity...And learning to cut your edge (window frame) is a truly refined technique that will boost your production level, trail and error is the key and once you develop a good learning process you will rise to a true level of cleanership !

Buddy I use to wrap a rag around the pole and it was a pain in the *ss, because it will fall off at some point and in the winter it sucks to drop a good rag in the slush.
I started using the unger clamp with is awesome but bulky, then I switched to using a old plastic squeegee handle with an elastic around it; this method worked the best because it was less bulky and you could make small adjustments to get clean dry cloth, were as the unger clamp is a shot gun approach.
cheers.

LOL! I hope you someday find a rubber band. I have tried the wagtail on a pole and I'm just not good enough with it, so like you I still rock the ninja. I removed the side clips that come on like in the video Mark referenced. I also use the green unger clips in it to give it a dog-eared effect. It works pretty good for not leaving much water to detail.

I carry a 6 inch squeegee that I put just about an inch of the rubber on the glass and pull down. This eliminates a lot of the water on the edge, but it means switching out from my main squeegee. Someone else had recomended this procedure and it works well for me. I suppose carrying an extra pole might be even easier.

Like others I wrap a huck towel around the end of the poll, hate the method, sometimes it falls off, sometimes it smears water, just crappy, big time consumer and your arms are already smoked and you only have seconds to get the water off before it spots.
Somewhere a water fed guy is laughing at this thread...

Well yes I am. Thanks for noticing.
