So do you think things will be better in 2010? I think they will be slightly better than this year. Hopefully people will want to spend more money on window cleaning this year.

In my uneducated opinion, I think that just like it took a year or 2 for us to feel the downturn, it will probably take a year or two to see it get better. I still have customers willing to pay big money, and only lost 4 because of the economy. I really dont work for the large builders, and I think they are the ones who really tanked. Even they should be up and running in a couple years tho.

There is still the possibility of more things going downhill but I think at this stage it will more likely affect the lower to middle income households. For residential, our target is high income households and I think what ever shake up to their financial situation has been, it's probably settled by now.

Commercial storefront can go either way.

I say yea it will be better. Things were grim and bleek this time last year but what a turn-a-round. I think were on the upside for sure.

this year has been absolutely amazing.. a difference of night and day from last year. we're still working even with the snow and there really is no end in sight.. its ridiculous.
i will say i have been more focused than i have ever been in every aspect with an extra mouth to feed this year.. but if 2010 is even better (which im sure it will be) i will be one happy cookie monster

My thoughts are along the same lines. I thought we would be sunk this year, but it turned out to be the year our company grew by leaps and bounds. Hopefully next year brings the same.

I'm optimistic about the year to come.

People in my area just won't spend the money, they even cut there house cleaning. What was monthly is 2times a year. I see no change coming anytime soon. That includes the people that hate dirty windows. I'm waiting for something to change, the belly is getting big.

Hey, if you move a bit more toward Southeastern Michigan you might have some luck in the residential market. Although it's slow as heck the first few months out of the year.

I just can't say this enough. Good economy or bad, people still get there windows cleaned. I know, we've been doing this for 31 years now!! The money is there. You just need to know who to market your service to in the changing economy. Diversify if you need to!!
